What bills

A business bills for any calendar month it is switched on to record — whether it recorded one event or none. Turning it off partway through a month does not refund that month.
An opt-in page is optional and billed on its own: a monthly subscription you can cancel any time. A cancelled page stays up, marked as no longer maintained. What the opt-in page is.
The texting pilot

What is always free
- Reading a business's records, at any volume.
- Exporting an evidence packet, at any volume.
- A business marked exempt or disabled — nothing bills, nothing is retained differently.
- Sandbox / test-mode activity — never counted, never billed.
- Every environment: no setup fee, no platform fee, no per-seat charge.
Coming, not yet billed

Business vetting does not exist yet (see the front page). This figure is the approved price for when it does, published now so nobody meets it as a surprise later.
What does not bill
- No channel surcharge. The $4.00 rate is the same whether a business records email or SMS consent.
- No volume limits, no overage fees. There is no per-request charge and nothing you can exceed.
- No commitment. The per-business rate and the opt-in page are month to month; there is no annual plan.
- No minimum invoice. An account with one active business is billed exactly $4.00 that month.
- No card-processing markup. Stripe's own fee comes out of what we're paid, never added to your charge.

An account running 40 active businesses for a full month:
